Carpet deep-cleaning on 5th floor

In preparation for the installation of the new furniture, Housekeeping will be deep-cleaning the carpet on the fifth floor tonight from about 10:00 p.m. until the library closes. Fire alarm testing tonight
April 5, 2012:
The fire alarms at Briscoe Library will be tested between midnight tonight and 2am tomorrow morning. During the tests, the noise is likely to be loud and distracting (as it should be for a working fire alarm, right?).

Carpet shampooing at Briscoe
March 15, 2012:
Housekeeping will be shampooing carpets at Briscoe Library over the next couple of weeks, which will require us to close certain sections of the library while the carpets dry.

From Monday, March 12 through Friday, March 23, approximately two-thirds of the book collection will be moved from the 5th floor to the empty stacks on the 4th floor. Construction noise on 3rd floor
We previously mentioned the tile work underway on the third floor. We have received more questions about the noise and disruption, so we wanted to provide some more details:
